Tindari, one of the most beautiful and sacred places in Sicily, is wrapped up in legends. One of these explains the spectacular natural phenomenon of a tongue of sand stretching out for kilometres into the sea. A sandbank, legend tells us, created to save a baby slipped from his mother's grasp and which still lies there, under a high cliff. A few miles north, between blue skies and crystalline waters, the Aeolian Islands rise from sea. The “seven sisters”, as they are sometimes called, are volcanic islands named after the god of the winds Aelous. Stromboli and Vulcano are still active and offer spectacular nocturnal explosions and views of lava flows. Now Imagine a villa occupying a thrilling vantage point, 500m above sea level, with views encompassing the landscapes for miles around – from Tindari on one side, to the Laghetti di Marinello, the spectacular Tyrrhenian sea and as far as Eolian Islands on the other side. We searched for a long time and finally found a very special place, so beautiful you'll have a hard time leaving. It's called Casalnuovo.
The villa is on two floors. On the ground floor, one enters the large living area, a balance of old and new with clean modern lines and touches of traditional style. Beautiful terracotta flooring, whitewashed walls and elegant furnishings offer homely and comfortable atmosphere throughout. The large living room has an open fireplace and features an entertainment center equipped with flat screen 3dTV, DVD player, PS3 and Apple TV. Overstuffed sofas surround the space, right in front of bright floor-to-ceiling glass doors overlooking the garden. Opposite the living area, is a well-equipped kitchen with a large dining area and glass doors providing access to the pool area and gardens.
The ground floor hosts a sleeping quarter, set between the living area and a stylish studio, and consisting of two double bedrooms with en-suite, a twin and a single bedroom. A wide wooden staircase leads to the upstairs bedrooms, four in total and spread along a large bright corridor, all en-suite, private balconies and ample walk-in closets. A marvelous panoramic loggia upstairs overlooks the lush garden outside with the stunning bay of Tindari and the Aeolian Islands in the distance.
From the dining area on the ground floor, a few steps lead down to the lower ground, directly into a games room, where you can relax playing pool and trying your skills at table tennis or table soccer.?
Outside, covered poolside seating areas are ideal to enjoy an aperitivo.. A large al fresco dining area, equipped with an outdoor wood-burning pizza oven, is accessed directly from kitchen.
The stunning pool area is surrounded by lawns, a vegetable garden and mature olive trees with comfortable deckchairs for sunbathing.
The panoramic views of the Sicilian country side rolling down to the sea can be enjoyed from the large pool which will surely become the central point of your holiday.
